South Summit, organized by IE University, and in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, was held in Madrid from 6 to 8 October.
An article by our collaborator Irene Tarragó
mjn-neuro has participated in this event where 3,800 projects have been presented and has been among the 100 finalist start-ups, which has allowed them to present their project to many businessmen from different countries. At the end they didn’t win, but the fact that they have been among those 100 selected is already something to feel proud.
I can only thank mjn-neuro for all their efforts, for not giving up, for always going ahead until they can market their product and, not only because they make life easier for people with epilepsy but also because, in some way, they have made me feel part of it.
In these moments of COVID19, in which we all travel in the same sinking ship, seeing how there are people with that tenacity makes us still think that we have hope. The political authorities against each other, the health authorities are without means and the citizens are not sure what to do.
That is why I would like to appeal to everyone’s common sense and, above all, to ordinary citizens, because if we don’t do it, no one will do it for us. No one.
Mask, gel, safety distance, not going to places with many people… Yes, I know: we have to take public transport, which is sometimes crowded, but if we do it with common sense, the risk will not be so big. I think the common feeling throughout Spain is that we have been left to our own luck. There are few places where you can see clear movements of the authorities, criteria with a scientific basis. That is why we have no choice but to apply common sense.
I have not seen my children or my grandchildren for many days now. We are handling it as best we can: with phone calls, photos, videoconferencing… It’s getting harder and harder, but I know it’s the best thing for everyone.
I wish that soon the curves of infected, admitted to ICU and deceased will go down all over Spain. That this virus gives us a break from all the changes it has brought.
Thank you very much again to mjn-neuro for all your effort.
