An article by our collaborator José Miguel Berdugo
Hello, I am José Miguel and I suffer from idiopathic generalized epilepsy with tonic-clonic seizures and absences. I have recognized 43% disability and grade II dependence (severe), I have tried many anticonvulsant drugs, but none seems to stabilize me. Neither does the ketogenic diet or alternative therapy.
My family and I are working to raise awareness in society about epilepsy.
I think much remains to be done…
Here are some pictures of when the Estepona City Council accepted my wife’s request to illuminate our city in purple for purple day to raise awareness of my disease.
Between all of us we must eliminate the stigma of our society, and it is simply a matter of small gestures.
