From Uxue

My name is Uxue, I am a 22-year-old and I have epilepsy. The truth is that I am a misunderstood girl, since apparently I have nothing, it seems that I am fine, but in reality I take a lot of medication and that causes me fatigue, memory loss, ovarian cysts, my feelings are on the surface and I have not been able to study or party like any other teenager.

All this started when I was 2 years old, the reason is still unknown, it lasted 4 years but then I spent 9 years without any seizure. The day I got my period, Epilepsy returned,  I was super sad. Until now my absences had not been controlled and finally thanks to a new medication “cenobamato” I can live more calmly and controlled, although I am aware that I have to take my medication, take a nap and not drink alcohol.

All of this is overcome with positivity, good doctors and, above all, the family who is always there when we need them.
